Alexandros Papaderos is the Deputy Head of the Office for Research and Innovation of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Head of TUM Patents and Licenses. In addition, Dr. Papaderos is coordinating the Technology Transfer activities at TUM.
A student of biology at the Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany he worked on his diploma thesis at the KFA-National Research Center in Jülich. For his doctoral thesis, he joined the GSF-National Research Center for Environment and Health in Neuherberg near Munich. Before joining TUM, he worked as a scientific consultant with the Stadtsparkasse München (a regional savings bank).
Dr. Papaderos began working with TUM in 2001 as the first Inventor Consultant in the history of TUM. He has 16 years’ experience in the protection and commercial exploitation of research results, collaboration between academia and business and university entrepreneurship. His track record includes numerous IP commercialisation cases, negotiation and conclusion of research collaboration contracts with academic and industrial partners as well as the support of the creation of university start-ups and spin-offs.
Dr. Papaderos served from December 2010 until August 2015 as a Member of the Advisory Board of the AMSilk GmbH (www.amsilk.com), a spin-off company from TUM. He is a Member of the Committee for Research, Technology and Innovation of the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw) and a frequent speaker in workshops and seminars on technology transfer issues.
