Starting his career as a Management Trainier for General Motor and as Sales and Management Trainer for Dip Adviesbureau. In 1983, he joined Hewlett Packard as European Quality Manager, then in 1988 he became President of Atlas Consult, a management consulting group active

in Western Europe, Bulgaria and the USA. In 1992 he founded AREOPA, a management consulting group specialized in: Intellectual Capital Calculation & Management, Learning and Knowledge Management, Organisation Development, Business Process Improvement. AREOPA is active


Alongside his business activities Ludo has been a member of various European Commission Expert Groups: such as on Valuation of Intangible Assets (2005) which resulted in the Ricardis Report: “Reporting Intellectual Capital to augment research, development and innovation in SME’s

(June 2006): IP Valuation (Accounting and Reporting (2013): which provided support to the Commission in implementing the Innovation Union by looking at the valuation of intellectual property, this resulted in the “Policy Report” (September 2013).

He is also a guest professor at the Polytechnic Universities of Hong Kong and Shanghai; guest speakers Unesco Apnieve (Asia-Pacific Network for International Education and Value Education) and visiting professor at several international universities.
